RUNNING FOR REEVE, COUNCIL OR PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE??
Council & Public School Board Trustee packages are now available for pick up at the Municipal office on May 1, 2026.
What you need to know before beginning your campaign…
- In Ontario, municipal elections are governed by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. That law sets out who can run, spending limits, donation rules, and filing requirements. You need to be at least 18, a Canadian citizen, and meet local residency or property ownership requirements.
- You must pay the nomination fee at the same time you submit your forms to the Municipal Clerk. The fee to run for Reeve is $200 and to run for Council is $100.
